Impulse

I was laying in bed and saw a shot that I just had to take. And share. Maybe this is part of the reason that I have intermittent insomnia.

Duh-duh. Duh-duh. Continue Jaws theme.

Getting Started

In an effort to provide myself with something to do on a regular basis, and a desire to talk more about my hobbies, I decided to start a hobby blog. I'm going to use this to motivate myself to get projects done (or at least make progress on them.)

Today's hobby was photography (thus far, there is probably some knitting in my immediate future). I've lived here in town for three years now, and I spent the morning walking around downtown and one of my favorite parks.

The picture to the left is of the beautiful river running through downtown. It's not the greatest picture, but it does show the nice cool water on a sunny summer morning.

After walking for a ways I found a neat old red Volvo, and snapped a couple of quick pictures.

I really love old cars, they have such interesting lines. I especially love the old grills and shiny metal bumpers.
I finally made it into the park, where I wandered around looking for interesting shapes and colors. One of the first things I saw was a cheerful bench, waiting in the sun for a footsore wanderer to make use of it.

Ripening blackberries and the dappled sun on ginko leaves were the next thing to catch my eye.

I finally ended up in the rose garden. I think the orange and yellow roses are my absolute favorite, because they are bright, cheerful, and completely random. No two are alike, and most on the same plant are barely similar.

By this time I was hungry for lunch, so I caught the bus home.

Stay tuned for the next installment of "A Day in the Life."
